Host-led retreats in Peneda-Gerês – small groups, hiking, and yoga adapted to your level.
I am a journalist and a yoga teacher, with a long-standing interest in nature, well-being, and the relationship between people and place. I originally lived in Lisbon and worked as an environmental journalist, but everything changed when I came to Peneda-Gerês to make a documentary about the Iberian wolf.
That journey marked a moment of slowing down in my own life. After years of movement and noise, I felt the need to return to simpler rhythms — walking, breathing, being outside, listening. Peneda-Gerês offered exactly that: space, silence, and a deep sense of grounding.
Ecotura grew from this shift. Hosting these retreats is my way of sharing that experience with care, guiding each week gently so people feel safe, supported, and free to arrive as they are — not to do more, but to be present, together, in nature.
“Anabela puts so much care into every detail — it truly makes the experience special. She is the soul of this place, hosting with warmth and flexibility, always adapting to make the most of each day. We enjoyed every minute.”
— Alina, GR
“A beautifully supportive week of yoga and hiking. Anabela’s hosting is attentive and kind, adapting each day with care. The yoga, the walks, and the food all came together in a deeply restorative experience.”
— Julie-Anne, UK
