Retreat formats

Most Ecotura retreats run as a standard week (8 days / 7 nights), from Saturday to Saturday, with 6 guided activity days.

Selected dates are also available as a short week (5 days / 4 nights), from Saturday to Wednesday, with 3 guided activity days.

Both formats follow the same rhythm from Saturday to Tuesday night.

Wednesday in the short week is reserved for breakfast and departure only.

The landscape: Serra da Peneda (Peneda-Gerês National Park)

In the northwest of Peneda-Gerês National Park, Serra da Peneda is a dramatic world of granite mountains, green meadows, oak forests and river valleys carved by waterfalls. This is a place of rare biodiversity and timeless human traces — Roman bridges, mountain paths, and stone villages that still follow the pace of nature.

Your base — Ecotura Nature Resort

You’ll stay in João Alvo — a tiny stone hamlet in the Laboreiro valley, restored into warm and comfortable guest houses. It’s quiet, intimate, and surrounded by forest, with the most magnificent mountain views in the morning, when the rising sun lights up the landscape

Holiday Highlights

A calm, grounded week in a small group, combining yoga, mindful walking, and time to slow down in nature. Shared meals, gentle routines, and quiet moments create space to reconnect and restore balance.

How the week flows

Most days begin with morning yoga, followed by a guided walk in nature, with time to rest or swim before a restorative late-afternoon yoga session.

Saturday — Arrival — Airport pick-up, Arrival at the venue for a welcome briefing, followed by time to rest and a shared evening meal.

Sunday — Ease in — Morning yoga · meditative forest walk · park centre visit · gentle yoga · dinner.

Monday — Mountain day — Morning yoga flow · full-day walk with picnic · gentle yoga · free time.

Tuesday — Choice day — Morning yoga flow · half-day walk · lunch · optional half-day walk (or swim/relax) · gentle yoga · dinner.

Wednesday — Reset & nourish — Facial yoga + yoga flow · free time · cooking workshop + lunch · slow afternoon · dinner.

Thursday — Back to the mountains — Morning yoga flow · full-day walk with picnic · gentle yoga · dinner.

Friday — A beautiful finish — Morning yoga flow · full-day walk with picnic · restorative yoga · farewell dinner.

Saturday — Departure — Breakfeast · Transfer to Porto airport.

Saturday — Arrival — Airport pick-up, Arrival at the venue for a welcome briefing, followed by time to rest and a shared evening meal.
